Student support

Award-winning support

At Bedford College, we want you to make the most of your journey with us – which is why we’re dedicated to providing you with the best advice and information. Our Student Services team is proud to hold the Matrix quality standard, awarded in recognition of the professionalism and quality of our support and guidance.

Personal tutor

As a higher education student at our College you’ll have a personal tutor to provide expert guidance with your learning – offering a level of support that’s hard to find at university. Available to talk in person or via email and Moodle (our online student portal), your personal tutor is there to help you perform at your very best.

Learning Resources Centre

The Learning Resources Centres are the main study centres for students, with books, journals and DVDs as well as a wide variety of e-books and e-resources. Qualified and experienced learning resources staff are available to give help and advice on finding all the resources you need, and there is also a range of helpful information on Moodle’s learning resources page.

Wellbeing

How you feel can have a huge impact on how you work – at Bedford College, we don’t want your personal wellbeing to get in the way of achieving success, so should you ever need to talk to someone confidentially about issues in your private or College life we have a dedicated counselling service where our trained staff are ready to help.

Financial support

With a constantly changing world of fees and funding rules for higher education, we know it can be difficult to understand exactly what financial support is available to you and how to access it. Thankfully, our student finance team are on hand to provide help and advice. Find out more.

Our focus is the same as yours – firmly on your career. From help with applications to information on your job options, our expert careers advisers are available from before you join us, right up until the end of your journey here, providing the impartial guidance you need to make the right choices about your course and future career path.

Job Shop

The Job Shop at Bedford College is exclusive to our students and works closely with local employers to provide you with the best employment opportunities. We can also equip you with the tools you need for your job search and to succeed in today’s competitive job market. Find out more.

Small class sizes

Thanks to small class sizes of around just 15 students per class you’ll also benefit from more face-to-face contact time with our expert tutors.
