This is one of a set of four professional courses that will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to be able to sit the following industry recognised certification exams. CCNET: Cisco Certified Network Entry Technician (ICND1) CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or ICND1 + ICND2 CCNET (ICND1) can be taken after the successful completion of the first two units. On successful completion of the last two units the ICND2 exam can be taken.
You do not need any qualifications or experience to start any of these courses. However a prior knowledge of some aspects of computing or networking would be desirable. If you have no computing background you should consider alternative introductory courses prior to applying.
You will need to complete all four courses (CCNA Parts 1-4) to become a full CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA). In addition we also offer the CISCO Network Security and Wireless Networking courses. Each course gives you a hands-on introduction to the networking technologies that are driving businesses today. You will learn how to install and configure CISCO switches and routers in multi-protocol networks using local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), provide a Level 1 troubleshooting service, and improve network performance and security. Additionally, instruction and training are provided in the proper care, maintenance and use of networking software tools and equipment, as well as all local building and environment codes and regulations. During the courses you will cover topics including Computer Hardware & Software, Wireless Networks, Networking Terminology & Protocols - LANs & WANs, Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Model, TCP/IP model, Ethernet, IP (Internet Protocol) Addressing - Design & Documentation of a Basic Network, Structured Cabling - Network to Network Communications.
