Microsoft Excel: Managing & Analysing Lists & Tables (including Pivot Tables)

This course is designed to build on your existing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel through introducing you to more advanced features.

Entry requirements

You should have a working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel and the basic concept of spreadsheets.

Course content

This course is designed to provide you with a solid understanding of more advanced Microsoft Excel tools and features in order to increase your knowledge and productivity through using tables and pivot tables to organise, summarise and analyse your data effectively.

During the course you will study the following topics:

  • Creating and modifying tables and PivotTables
  • Adding and formatting styles
  • Sorting, filtering and grouping data
  • Formatting values
  • PivotTable calculations
  • Creating PivotCharts and PivotTable reports.

Assessment methods

There will be no assessments or exams during this course; you will receive a Bedford College course completion certificate.

Further study and career options

On completion of this course you could study another of the short computing courses at Bedford College to further develop your skills, such as Microsoft Excel: Intermediate, Microsoft Excel: Automating Your Spreadsheets with Forms & Macros, and Microsoft Excel: What If Analysis.

Additional information

This course will be delivered using Microsoft Office 2010 and will also be suitable if you use Microsoft Office 2007. If you are using Microsoft Office 2003 or any other version, please contact us to discuss this further.
