Bricklaying CSkills Awards Level 3 Diploma
This course will provide you with the advanced skills, knowledge and experience you will require to competently carry out a range of complex bricklaying techniques to industry standards, along with the additional skills required for supervisory jobs.
To start this course you will require:
Diploma in Bricklaying Level 2
Entry is subject to a successful interview where you will be asked to complete a skills assessment.
During the course you will cover topics including:
- How to carry out safe working practices in construction
- Knowledge of information, quantities and communicating with others
- Knowledge of building methods and construction technology
- Building methods and construction technology
- How to carry out structural and decorative brickwork
- How to repair and maintain masonry structures
- How to erect complex masonry structures.
There are also two synoptic practical assessments and a computer based examination. You will also cover essential functional skills to prepare you for employment.
Your tutor/assessor will provide oral and written feedback continuously throughout the course.
Your skills and knowledge are measured against the National Standards as the units are completed.
Mature entrants may want to take advantage of assessment only facilities in order to credit them with a part or full qualification, which will reveal what further training will be necessary to complete the whole programme.
