Lighting Design Course (CIBSE) (workplace)
This course will provide you with a knowledge and understanding of domestic and non-domestic lighting design principles and applications. This course is ideal if you are a practising electrician interested in gaining an understanding of how to design lighting equipment and systems. Whether you are new to lighting or already have a general understanding of the subject, this course will provide you with a platform for further academic study or to progress your career.
During the course you will study a number of modules to provide you with the necessary knowledge for designing lighting circuits:
- Vision and the nature of light
- Lighting units and terminology
- Illuminance calculation and maintenance
- Lighting design, including illuminance calculation and maintenance.
There will be no formal assessment during this course.
Further study and career options
Successful completion of this course will lead to the award of a Bedford College Underpinning Knowledge certificate. The course will allow you develop and practise the skills required for employment and career progression in the residential and non-residential lighting design sector.
To take part in this course you will be required to provide you own calculator, pen, pencil and note taking materials; lunch will provided.
