Plumbing & Heating City & Guilds NVQ 6189-57 Level 2 Diploma (workplace)

The Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing 6189-57 is a workplace qualification which gives you a full NVQ in Plumbing. It is the minimum qualification required to work within the Plumbing and Heating Industry. Once gained you are a qualified plumber and heating engineer. The course will also allow you to progress to Level 3 or other pathways within the industry.

Entry requirements

The Plumbing Diploma 6035-02 is required to commence this qualification.

Course content

You will cover:

  • Health & safety
  • Hot & cold water
  • Central heating
  • Soil stacks
  • Guttering
  • Decommissioning and maintenance.

Assessment methods

On site observations.

Further study and career options

You can progress on to the Level 3 in Plumbing, various commercial courses including un-vented hot water, water regulations or category 3 gas operative.
