Introduction to Further Education (FE) Teaching

This one day Teaching with Further Education (FE) course is intended for people who wish to progress into a job as a teacher within FE. It is a hands-on course which offers a practical exploration of the role and responsibilities of a teacher in FE.

Entry requirements

No previous experience of teaching is required, however your focus should be on an intention to move into a teaching role in the future.

Course content

This introductory course will be ‘hands on’ and will cover aspects such as:

  • Lesson Planning
  • Behaviour Management
  • Assessment
  • The Initial Teacher Training (ITT) qualification process

Assessment methods

There is no formal assessment for this course. You will receive a certificate of attendance on completion.

Further study and career options

On completion of the course you could move on to the Education and Training Level 3 Award or the CertEd/PGCE.
