Event Planning: An Introduction
Whether you are planning a family birthday, charity Easter egg hunt, a large corporate experience or anything in between, this course will provide you with all the skills and knowledge you need to run a successful event. You may even have the opportunity to put this into practice by holding your own team event during the course. Experienced tutors will guide you through the process and help you evaluate your own performance while you gain practical knowledge and skills which can be used in a variety of circumstances.
You do not need any formal qualifications to start this course, however you will need to provide evidence of good spoken and written English, have an interest in Event Planning and a genuine desire to complete the course.
You will study a range of units during the course including:
- The role of the event planner
- Personal skills and qualities/li>
- Different types of events (e.g. corporate, sports, leisure)
- Venue selection
- Costing events
- Planning and running an event
- Evaluating the event
You may have an opportunity to hold an event during the course. Please note that costing will be at the group’s discretion and is not covered by the course fee.
Further study and career options
On completion of this course, you could continue your studies with an additional part-time course, in areas such as Aviation Operations on the Ground, Cabin Crew, Resort Representatives, or a HNC/HND in Travel & Tourism Management.
You may have an opportunity to hold an event during the course. Please note that costing will be at the group’s discretion and is not covered by the course fee. There may be additional costs if an event is held during the course. This will be discussed beforehand.
