Leah

Lots of my friends had recommended Bedford College to me and I knew I wanted to study Business because I wanted to learn more about all the different areas such as human resources, accounting, marketing and business ethics.

I’ve found the work harder at College than at school but you get lots of help if you need it, you just have to ask.  Everyone is friendly and supportive, both the tutors and the other students on the course.  It’s very easy to book a one-to-one appointment with your tutor if you need additional help and they are good at explaining exactly what is expected of you for each assignment.

We have the chance to do work experience as part of the course and the tutors can help you to find a work placement.  We have also been on trips and industry visits to learn more about business in practice.  Earlier this year we went to Cadbury’s World in Bourneville near Birmingham as part of our Business Ethics unit to find out more about their Fairtrade Cocoa Partnership in Ghana.  We learnt that it has increased Fairtrade cocoa sales for existing certified farming groups since 2009.
